Introduction to MacKie Farms

Hello!

We decided to move to historical Hazen, Nevada, located between Fernley and Fallon, with a goal in mind. That goal is to create a peach orchard, adding to the agricultural industry of Northern Nevada. This would also provide much needed diversity in the local marketplace.

MacKie farms sits in a desert "bowl" with its own micro-climate, desert soils, and naturally sloping terrain.

We have always been concerned about our environment and have planned the orchard with the least disturbance to the soil possible and using the least amount of water possible. Trees also help the air quality. We use no pesticides and our fruit is tree ripened for perfect flavors. A challenging project but with many rewards! 

Over the years, our greatest pleasure is tending our gardens and this is a natural progression for us.
